Melodio for Libor

On Monday, October 23, 2023, a pleasant atmosphere prevailed in the Church of St. Martin in the Wall. It was created by a series of beautiful songs and equally amazing piano sounds (Pavel Větrovec), vibraphone (Radek Krampl), and double bass (František Raba). The opportunity also came to the young Amelia Žurková, a musically talented student from ECP, who sang a duet with Shimona and enlivened the audience’s arrival by playing the piano.

The music drew me in so much that I didn’t even notice if it was cold in the church. I listened with enthusiasm to Markéta Fassati and her fellow musicians.

I enjoyed a five-minute meditation led by coach Lenka Vornhagen, which brought me and certainly other listeners inner peace, allowing us to enjoy the concert even more.

Upon leaving, there was a tasting of homemade pastries by Mirka Nováková, a long-time friend of the fund’s founders and its first regular donor.

Together, we managed to raise 69,300 CZK, which will cover the costs of personal development for Libor with a coach and subsequent development programs for him and another client of the Melodio Foundation. Thank you to all who attended the concert.

Libor has many unpleasant experiences. While repairing a roof, the scaffolding broke and he fell 13 meters directly onto concrete. After a year he learned to walk again, but then he contracted MRSA in his left leg which is an aggressive strain of golden staphylococcus. Libor tried to save his leg and managed to find a clinic in Poland. However, due to high treatment costs, he had to sell his apartment. Unfortunately, saving his leg was not successful.
He would like to find peace and tranquility within himself. Since 2015 he has been using a wheelchair, so he would need accessible housing which is his big goal.
